Sparrow Foundation
The mission of the Sparrow Foundation is to assist the Sparrow Health System in the education of mid-Michigan residents on the healthcare needs of the community and the System's programs for meeting those needs and to obtain the moral and financial support of the community for initiatives and programs sponsored by the Sparrow Health System.
Coaches for Kids Fund
The Coaches for Kids Fund is named for and dedicated to area coaches supporting children’s healthcare in mid-Michigan. Local coaches including MSU Men’s Head Basketball Coach Tom Izzo, Head Hockey Coach Rick Comley, Head Women’s Basketball Coach Joanne P. McCallie, Head Volleyball Coach Chuck Erbe, Head Women’s Softball Coach Jacquie Joseph, Bobby Williams and of course MSU Athletic Director Ron Mason have teamed up with community members, local high school athletic directors and athletes to help Sparrow raise funds for a new pediatric emergency room, including a separate waiting room for pediatric patients and their families. To date, Coaches for Kids has raised over $2 million toward the multimillion-dollar expansion of the Sparrow Emergency & Trauma Center, which will occur within the next three years. The Coaches for Kids Fund is part of Sparrow’s affiliation with Children’s Miracle Network, an international not-for-profit organization raising funds for 170 children’s hospitals.
Athletes for Kids
Athletes for Kids is comprised of athletes from all sports who are firmly committed to enhancing the overall health status of mid-Michigan’s children. From amateur to professional, members are dedicated to improving access and awareness of local children’s healthcare services. The organization is raising funds to purchase essential equipment for the Trauma/Resuscitation room within Sparrow Hospital’s Pediatric Emergency Room—equipment specifically dedicated for children.

Officials for Kids
Officials for Kids is a group of local sports officials who have banded together to support the Coaches and Athletes for Kids cause. Their goals include instituting a “Give a Game” program where officials are encouraged to donate a set amount to the cause for each game they officiate. Knowing that teamwork is the key to success, they plan to recruit their friends and colleagues to contribute to this program. The Officials for Kids members understand that by joining together to help the kids of mid-Michigan, they have made the Right Call!
