As Holiday HOOPS & ARTS celebrates 25 years of empowering youth and families, co-CEOs Faith Holiday and Westley Todd Holiday recently joined Sean Littman on the Beyond the Bottom Line Holiday Hoops podcast episode to reflect on the organization’s journey, mission, and continued growth.

The episode explores the story behind Holiday HOOPS & ARTS, originally founded by their parents, first-generation college students who met at Bethune-Cookman University and shared a passion for giving back through sports and education. Years later, Faith revived the organization after recognizing that too many young people in the community lacked opportunities and mentorship. Westley Todd later joined, bringing experience in nonprofit management and organizational infrastructure to help strengthen and grow the work.

Today, Holiday HOOPS & ARTS has served nearly 2,000 youth and families. It uses basketball as an entry point for youth development, with a deeper goal reflected in its name.

As Faith shared during the conversation:

HOOPS means Helping Others Obtain Personal Success. Within the range of teaching basketball, we want to teach kids discipline, teamwork, responsibility, and accountability so they can become successful members of society.”

In recent years, the organization has expanded its impact beyond the court. Programs like

ARTS (Amplifying and Refining Talents) and community initiatives focused on health, confidence, and life skills continue to support the development of young people and families across the community.

For Westley and Faith, the work ultimately comes back to a simple philosophy about community.

“No matter how big we get, at the end of the day it’s families helping families.”

As Holiday HOOPS & ARTS enters its 25th anniversary year, the siblings continue building on their parents’ vision by strengthening programs, expanding partnerships, and ensuring the organization’s mission continues to serve the next generation of youth.
